Occupation: Artist
Inspiration: ‘Different people, cultures, food, colors, air…Interior Design’
At heart, I think it’s fair to say that Bianca Green is a pattern-maker. Her works are an amalgamation of differing patterns, colours and shapes. Perhaps the best way to describe Bianca as an artist is a pattern collagist, utilising fabrics in a similar way as in patchwork design in textiles. ‘It's that "wallpaper, fabric, carpet" love I have always had. I am happier in a furniture or fabric store than in any candy shop. And the same way I like combining different patterns and colors in my home and my outfits, I do with my art. Some of the patterns I use look incredibly boring alone, but put in a piece with others they suddenly look alive and beautiful’.

Asked how she would describe her style, Bianca replied ‘I always like to think that I don't have a certain style, so that I can create something completely different tomorrow. But looking at my collection at the moment, I would say I love using many colors, flowers, patterns and I see some vintage & 90ies love there too. Many people write me after they buy my work and say my art makes them happy. That is the best way to describe my work and the best compliment I could ever get’. Happiness is certainly an emotion evoked from looking at Bianca’s works, whether that be a chuckle at her ‘Queen of Effing Everything’ piece, or a bright smile at the work Bianca likes to call ‘Mustache Mania’. Something in between her use of bright colours, pattern, retro aesthetic and quirky sense of humour, Bianca relates a feeling of cheer and joy.
Something I found particularly smile-raising was this:

For those of you that aren’t familiar with this quote, it is from the US sitcom How I Met Your Mother, spoken by the hilarious Barney Stinson. Asked about it Bianca said ‘I normally don't do that kind of work but the Barney Stinson character is one of the best ever written. His philosophy is so positive, I just had to dedicate one piece to him with my favorite quote: "When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True Story."’
Despite the future (2022 to be exact) being ‘far, far away’, and something Bianca doesn’t like to plan, she did tell us that ‘I wish for myself every day is that I will always be inspired to create and enjoy doing it. I hope I will have traveled even more and found a spot in this wonderful world to call home. Be happy, in balance, healthy and finally have a dog’.
