Jennifer Louise Tarleton is multi-talented, as both a designer and a photographer. In the blog today, we are looking at her photography. The above photos are taken from the Teddy Boy Photo-shoot, in which Tarleton plays around with lighting and shutter-speed to create images which look filmic and intriguing. Her use of black, blue and white sets up a very masculine style, encompassing the Teddy Boy look. As he smokes his cigarette smoke blurs the photograph, and what was once there, now appears to be dissipating.
Her images are the epitome of ‘cool’ – a man in a chic and sharp suit smoking a cigarette – they could be something out of Ocean’s Eleven, or one of Guy Ritchie’s gangster films. It is this filmic quality of Jennifer’s photography which draws me to it, as it appears to lay out the snapshots of a Hollywood blockbuster.
