Designer: Robert Wun
Posted by Lulu Liao

Robert Wun is a versatile designer who is not only gifted in fashion design, but also skilled in using illustration and photographs to present his fashion ideas. He describes his style as ‘futuristic, bizarre and feminine’, as demonstrated in the following collections.

This collection named ‘Last Breath’ is inspired by the biblical history of the death of Jesus. Robert captured the moment before the soul of Jesus left his corpse, and visualised how his last breath condensed and paused in his body as if constructing the complicated blood veins with air. This imaginative concept materialised into a delicate white dress which gently curls up the body like smoke, highlighting the feminine softness and innocence.

In ‘Oni’, Robert combined the spirit of ghosts, images of cells and fetuses, colours of flesh and blood, and the clean, sharp silhouette of Japanese kimonos. The dress is creepy yet graceful, quirky and elegant. It represents Robert’s understanding of the regeneration of femininity.

Apart from fashion design, Robert is also skilled in coming up with ideas for fashion photography. Cooperating with photographers, Bobby Sham in ‘Last Breath’, and Louis Lander Deacon in ‘Oni’, he successfully presents his works in stunning shots.

This year, Robert is graduating from London College of Fashion. He just got his latest collection ‘Burnt’ photographed a few days ago. As a graduate with a background in women’s wear, Robert hopes to get a job in the fashion industry ‘to learn, to experience, and to grow’.
